In this webinar, attendees will explore how trauma impacts can lead to experiences of grief. Concepts of grief, following trauma experiences and loss, will be explored, along with a few concrete treatment interventions for clients of all ages. This webinar is geared towards newly licensed and practicing Social Workers & therapists.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will increase their knowledge relating to the connection between trauma impacts and grief.
Attendees will learn three new interventions to utilize in therapy sessions.
Attendees will learn two new resources for enhancing trauma specific treatment and grief exploration.
Presenter:Linzi Rae Matta, LICSW (she/her) began her career in victim’s services at URI as a Peer Advocate working with Violence Prevention & Advocacy Services, graduating with a BA in Music History and Literature with a Minor in Women's Studies. After volunteering for a local domestic violence agency, she worked to obtain her MSW degree from RIC & has been a LICSW since 2019. Linzi Rae has developed an expertise in providing trauma focused treatment modalities to survivors of interpersonal and systems-induced trauma. In recent years, Linzi Rae has expanded her experience in clinical consultation and supervision, training facilitation, policy development, program operations, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her education experience includes 3 years as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Brown University, teaching first year medical students on how bias, social issues, and trauma impact patient care. Linzi Rae is currently the Clinical Director at Sojourner House, and the co-founder of Pathway to Resilience, a consultation and training service for professionals.
