Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. - John F. Kennedy
Professional development is an essential activity for ensuring quality social work services. The cornerstone of professional development is continuing your education. Regardless of career stage, social workers are ethically required to keep informed of current research, theory, and techniques that guide social work practice to better serve clients and constituents.
NASW is committed to helping social workers meet their professional development needs. The newly redesigned Social Work Online CE Institute houses hundreds of on-demand titles produced by the NASW Chapters and National Office, and, for your ease of mind, the same NASW login is now the way to access the Institute’s library and all your training history. Additionally, NASW members can enjoy both free CEs and CEs at discounted rates.
Before you purchase a course, please familiarize yourself with your licensing board’s requirements regarding distance learning/home study CE courses- as each state licensing board has slightly different rules about distance learning.
The courses in this library are offered in one of three formats - CEtoGo is a downloadable course that can be downloaded to a device for learning on the go, OnDemand is a course that will run on your computer screen via an audio and/or video player, and Electronic Documents are text courses that you can read on your computer screen or print to read at your leisure. The OnDemand courses have a tracking mechanism and will not allow you access to the post-test until the course has played through to its end.
Technical assistance is available through the menu on the bottom of the library page- you may phone, email or access immediate online support from the website. Also once in a course there is a Help tab with FAQs and instructions to request technical assistance.
