Amy House, Certified Positive Approach to Care Trainer with Teepa Snow will discuss Teepa’s Gems classification model to understand the stages of dementia as precious genes that with the right care and right setting can still shine at any stage of the disease.
Learning Objectives 1. Solidify your understanding of Alzheimer’s and other dementias. 2. Understand the cognitive and physical changes that happen with the progression of dementia related diseases. 3. Recognize and intervene with changes to normal aging in your personal and personal life.
About the Presenter Amy House is a recognized leader and educator in the Twin Cities on dementia. She is owner and founder of the Think Dementia podcast, helping care partners understand what is happening in the brain to have better relationships with their loved ones living with dementia. Amy has three dementia support groups, is a Certified PAC Trainer with Teepa Snow and founding member of the Roseville Alzheimer’s and Dementia Community Action Team and Dementia Friendly Airports Working Group.
