    Fatphobia: The Socially Acceptable Bias
1 CEU - May be counted as Cultural Responsiveness or Ethics
    Presenter:
    Nathalie Mahood, MSW, LGSW

This presentation aims to shine a light on fatphobia, the pervasive and accepted nature of it, calling out the different ways that it shows up in everyday life. We will look at the real impacts of the bias on those in fat bodies and find different ways to address fatphobia when it presents. There will also be a list of resources for further consideration for attendees to continue to work through their own bias.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Raise awareness about the pervasive nature and acceptance of fatphobia
    2. Examine what is going on underneath the surface of fatphobia and the real impact it has on people
    3. Show what you can do help
