Food and Eating Unwrapped: Knowledge to Help when a Client Struggles
Many of our clients have a complicated relationship with food and weight. Participants will learn about the politics (social and political), biology (brain), and psychology of eating (eating as a developmental achievement). This presentation will show social workers how to help their clients with eating disorders address societal norms and stigmas around health and eating within the medical world.
Objectives: What do our clients or patients need to unlearn from our current paradigm regarding health? What drives our complicated relationship with food? Why is eating healthy so challenging?
