This presentation will be based upon the four areas of Veterinary Social Work, which have been defined by the University at Tennessee, Knoxville to include, Animal-Related Grief and Bereavement, Compassion Fatigue and Conflict Management, Animal-Assisted Interventions and The Link between Human and Animal Violence. The presentation will also work to provide an understanding and identify the importance of the Human and Animal Bond. Furthermore, the suicide risk among veterinary professionals is high. Information will be included about risk factors and tips for suicide prevention. The information about suicide risk and prevention will be discussed more in depth with information around compassion fatigue.
