An overview is provided stressing the updates to the DSM-5-TR that summarizes the rationale for modifications in the supporting diagnostic information, coding and the addition of one new diagnosis. The continued connection between DSM-5-TR and ICD-10-CM supports a comprehensive diagnostic-assessment. Frequent questions that occur when placing a diagnosis, documentation, and behavior-based practice strategy are explored. Learning Objectives: After completion of the course, participants will be able to:- Identify at least three updates related to the DSM-5-TR that can affect documentation and treatment strategy.
- Identify how these changes affect and support the partnership with ICD-10-CM.
- Identify at least two supporting diagnostic changes, coding changes and one new diagnosis.
- Explore implementing these changes into documentation and practice strategy when completing the diagnostic assessment.
