NASW-NYS: Child Abuse & Trauma: A Life Time of Anxiety and Insecurity
This workshop will focus on the general core concepts of child abuse, the subsequent trauma experienced by individuals and the impact of the experience while growing up. We will discuss case examples and applications of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing taught in a simple to understand manner, that can be used to address to mental health struggles that can occur due to child abuse trauma. Additionally, this workshop will focus on understanding the long-term impacts of abuse at the mental and physical levels.
