Synopsis: The dynamics of anger, reasons for showing up and practical strategies for the parent and child will be included. Specific play therapy interventions will be explained and practiced. These approaches are useful for children ages 3 to 10. A strong component is the role of the parent.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this workshop attendees will:
1. Recall reasons children experience anger to the degree that therapy is needed
2. Describe ways in which anger is manifested during a therapy session
3. Demonstrate various toys to include in the playroom to facilitate anger expression
4. Identify specific CBT techniques for anger management
5. Demonstrate directive and non-directive techniques
