Description: This webinar invites clinicians to expand their clinical lens beyond monogamy and toward a more inclusive understanding of ethically non-monogamous (ENM) and polyamorous relationships. We’ll explore the many ways ENM shows up in therapy, reflect on bias, countertransference, and values conflicts (because therapists are humans, too), and the intersection with race, culture, and power. Participants will leave with practical, affirming strategies for supporting relationship-diverse clients with curiosity and humility.
Learning Objectives:
Identify three common client presentations in ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships and their clinical considerations.
Recognize personal biases, countertransference, and values conflicts when working with relationship-diverse clients.
Describe at least two inclusive, affirming strategies that support ethical and culturally responsive practice with ENM clients.
