This workshop will explore diversity by uncovering the complexities of identities and social locations. The range of factors that influence individuals and who they are, their choices, life events, and decisions that intersect with their interactions with others.
In this workshop, we will address
racism, classism, LGBTQIA+2, gender equity, age and disability, and faith. The goal is to discuss ways to create an atmosphere of how to accept your identity through first examining your identity (
“Who Am I”), discussing the multifaceted identity complexities in social environment, and moving forward to improve social work practices. We briefly discuss the importance and differences in Cultural Competency, Sensitivity, and Humility to support the totality of multidimensional reflection and a continual improvement.
Goals and Objectives: - To explore diversity, equity, and social justice as a continual improvement in social services.
