    Direct and supervise administrative and clinical functions of a Substance Use Treatment Specialty Program and provide resource allocation within the department.

    Administrative and Personnel Management: Supervise a multidisciplinary team of professional staff, including licensed clinical social workers, MD’s, psychologists, and nurse practitioners. Develop and implement policies, practices, procedures, protocols as well as ensure accrediting board standards are followed. Monitor and provide oversight in the implementation of clinical programming. Participate in the interviewing and hiring of clinical staff, monitor leave requests, complete performance appraisals and initiate disciplinary action. Supervise and direct performance improvement plans, work assignments, provide constructive feedback & correction as indicated. Serve as an active member of the Social Work Professional Practice Committee (SWSPP) committee to review and update agency policies and procedures for Social Work Service Line. Currently developing OPPE and FPPE evaluation standards for Social Work Service Line as part of the SWSPP.

    Manage SATP IOP consults/referrals and works collaboratively with administrative staff to ensure access and timely scheduling of Veteran appointments. Supervise, evaluate and monitor escalated secure messages, open encounters, High Risk Protocol Veterans needing mental health appointments, Post Discharge Engagement outreach attempts, Reach Vet outreaches, clinical reminders, MHTC assignments & clinical documentation, and using the data to effectively manage clinic operations, performance improvement and productivity. Conduct chart reviews to ensure the provision of clinical services and coordination of care for the Veteran. Collaboratively work with patients and their families to provide education and community integration resources. Conduct ongoing staff training, development and team building activities. Provide leave coverage for other SATP Clinical Directors to manage up to 5 clinics within SATP. Address grievances; develop and implement solutions for continuous quality improvement in programming. Analyze and monitor labor mapping, bookability, and other data to effectively manage workload, supervise staff productivity & performance for ongoing quality improvement. Review and track no show documentation to ensure it meets VA policy standards. Respond to Congressional letters in a timely manner to provide a resolution. Responsible for resource allocation within the department. Effectively and independently balance administrative & clinical duties, organizing workload, following up on pending issues to complete in a timely manner, delegating authority, prioritizing assignments, and meeting multiple deadlines daily, to effectively manage FTM clinic and start IOP Pike clinical services in 11/2023.

    Clinical Leadership: Supervise and direct clinical functions of the ESP, PDE and CL Teams. Conduct weekly huddle meetings to provide leadership, guidance, consultation and clinical direction in MH specialty care focused on a prevention model. Lead clinical consultation meetings with staff to provide education, process challenges, and provide a space for the team to support each other. Provide case management, patient education to Veterans and their family, group therapy and [2] individual psychotherapy to a small caseload of patients with complex medical, mental health, psychosocial and SUD needs. Ensure evidence-based treatment is being implemented to support Veteran recovery efforts. Provide new hire and ongoing training & development of staff on clinical duties. Provide monthly group supervision for MSW/LMSW’s. Collaborate and negotiate with external and internal programs to include Suicide Prevention, BHIP teams, Reach Vet, PACT, TRP, PCMHI, Caregiver support, PDE, CRRC, VJO, Risk Mitigation, DOM, Front Door, ER, inpatient psychiatry, community care, inpatient medical, halfway house, community care, etc. Maintain a good understanding and working knowledge of VA operations, organizational structure and the impact on SUD programming. Provide education and training for interns, fellows and medical students working in 
    SATP. Completed Strength at Home training and provide 12-week group therapy for Veterans. Provide CBT-SUD Level I evidenced based psychotherapy for Veterans.

    Intimate Partner Violence:
     Conduct Strength at Home group to prevent and end Intimate Partner Violence using a trauma informed approach, and cognitive behavioral interventions. Completed Couples Intimate Partner Training. Conduct a Strength at Home Couples groups focus on conflict resolution.

    Halfway House Clinical Liaison: Monitor and provide clinical oversight of two VA contracted halfway houses with 30 combined beds as the assigned clinical liaison tracking bed availability, monitoring contract compliance and reporting concerns, collaborating with leadership, contracts office, halfway house and Patients for the coordination of Veteran care. Evaluate halfway house guidelines, activities, protocols and processes. Work collaboratively with the halfway house, SATP and Veterans through regular communication to resolve questions and concerns in a timely manner. Conduct on-site quarterly clinical visits to the halfway houses and provide a follow up report to leadership evaluating processes to advance clinical services for Veterans. Receive and process halfway house critical incidents/grievances and provide follow up resolutions to the Veterans, contracts office, leadership and halfway houses. Conduct refresher trainings during staff meetings to communicate halfway house referral process and protocols. Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with the halfway house owners, Veterans and colleagues as the VA clinical liaison. Develop and update written halfway house protocols as needed.
