    Andrea Murray, MSW, LICSW is Director of NASW’s Office of Ethics and Professional Review. She serves as host and moderator for NASW’s Ethics Table Talks; a virtual platform that serves as a safe space to examine critical topics facing the social work profession through the lens of the NASW Code of Ethics.  In her current role at NASW, Andrea, is responsible for developing ethics programming, and for the administration of the association’s professional review process.  During her tenure at NASW, Andrea has authored a wide array of ethics resources, including the Ethics 8 tipsheet series, the Ethical Standard of the Month, and NASW’s self-study course entitled, Understanding the NASW Code of Ethics.

    Andrea holds an MSW degree from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto.  She is also a certified project manager and mediator. Andrea initiated her social work career in the District of Columbia’s child welfare system. As manager of the District’s first post-adoption support unit, she developed a program that served over 1300 adoptive families. In her role as Manager, Systems Improvement Methodology at Casey Family Programs, Andrea provided technical assistance and consultation on a wide array of issues to child welfare agencies and associated systems nationwide.
