Learning Objectives: At the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify the difference between explicit and implicit bias and explain how implicit associations are formed within the brain's cognitive schema.
2. Analyze the ethical and systemic impact of implicit bias on key social work domains, including client assessment, diagnosis, resource allocation, and supervision, referencing the NASW Code of Ethics.
3. Connect the concept of implicit bias directly to the ethical mandate of Use of Self in professional practice.
4. Develop and demonstrate at least three specific, real-time strategies to interrupt biased thinking and action in client-facing scenarios.
