  Description

In this session, attendees will gain insight in the professional recommendations of best practices for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals, learning to navigate systems to help identify a multidisciplinary approach to trans health, understand the scope and need for advocacy to support these treatment options, and gain a general understanding of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) recommendations.

    Clover McKinney is an LCSW and LCAS with experience working with behavioral health, substance use, emergency department, and inpatient medical care of patients from a variety of different backgrounds and complex needs. TGD health and treatment is a passion of Clover's and requires a nuanced understanding for best practice.

    Amber Graham, MD Bio

    Amber Graham is a faculty member of the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University with a special interest in the care of transgender and gender-diverse individuals. Amber has had several opportunities at Duke to pursue this interest such as participating in a special elective providing psychiatric medication management for transgender patients and participating in a co-lead lecture series on gender and sexuality with Dane Whicker, PhD. Amber currently practices in acute care psychiatry at Duke University Hospital and Duke Regional Hospital in the Emergency Department and on the inpatient Consult-Liaison service.
