The 2024 annual bulletin, InterSections in Practice, will examine best practices to promote social workers’ longevity in the field of social work. It will explore advancing social work pay, the application of social work core principles and innovative pathways for practical interventions. The bulletin will also discuss what methodologies can be used to advance the profession of social work such as macro-level changes that can re-energize practitioners and social workers advocating for themselves more strongly than they advocate for others.
Learning Objectives:
Social workers have one of the most challenging careers within the helping professions. Social workers can face heavy works and burnout. It is a career with frequent turnover. However, this annual bulletin will look at possible workforce solutions that will help social workers look at best practices to promote social workers longevity in the field of social work.
Reimaging social work where social workers consider innovative pathways that do not lead to the road of status quo and inspire them to advance and promote social work. How can social workers come together, develop and improve methodologies to advance the profession.
It will also examine how resiliency and hope along with a flexible perspective can lead to a long career in social work.
