A 90-minute presentation on how social distancing during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic is affecting the delivery of psychotherapy and the ways therapists might adapt their approaches to balance the increase in need, the acuity of our clients and the limitations of our practices.  Content will include addressing the necessity of remote crisis assessment and intervention, the challenges and opportunities of telehealth and strategies for reducing the strain and isolation of providing care for others while being impacted ourselves.
    1. Name three examples of new challenges to providing mental health care during the pandemic.
    2. Identify two concrete strategies for overcoming obstacles to care and addressing increased acuity of client needs.
    3. List three signs of empathy fatigue and/or secondary trauma for therapists providing care in the current crisis.
    4. Identify three steps you can take to adapt your clinical strategies to best serve clients during this period of social distancing
Please note that much of the information in the introduction and closing can be disregarded when viewing this course as a recording. For purpose of CE’s, use the post-test, rather than the code described in the video.
