As social workers, it is our duty to be competent in all areas of practice, especially when it comes to suicide prevention. Nearly every client group may be at high risk for suicide-related behaviors, making this a critical area for all social work professionals—whether in policy, community advocacy, direct practice, or case management. This session will explore the science of hope, assessment, and treatment within the context of prevention, focusing on primary prevention, high-risk groups, and the importance of postvention.
