Supervision is a crucial element to any successful program as staff need ongoing support and development to provide high quality services. Yet, supervisors may not have received formal education or training on supervision best practices, leaving supervisors uncertain where to start or just following habits that were modeled to them in the past. An important foundation for supervisors is to develop an individualized supervision approach that enhances their own personal style. This workshop will help supervisors identify and communicate their supervision approach clearly so that supervisees know what to expect and everyone can get the most out of supervision.
Objectives:
- Participants will identify effective supervisory practices
- Participants will understand four functions of supervision
- Participants will develop an individual supervision approach that incorporates elements of each supervision function
