Teaching Gerontological Social Work Assessment Skills

Presents a teaching tool and framework for practice.
Provides examples of the knowledge base undergirding the assessment.
Reviews core components of the client data being gathered.
Explores the skills required in summarizing and interpreting the data, constructing a plan, and gathering data from clients and others.
Address ethical considerations.
Interwoven throughout the curriculum will be a focus on cultural competency, racial equity, and diversity issues related to staff, clients and communities. Teaching Gerontological Social Work Assessment Skills may be taken individually or as part of the 10 training modules for which the enrollee may earn the online SLA Certificate.
