This presentation provides an overview of Medicaid services including those pertaining to the Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS) benefit and the statewide Behavioral Health Enhancement (BHE) initiative. The section will review how Virginia became a nationally recognized recipient of the SUPPORT Act Grant, which seeks to increase access to Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention and Treatment services, examine statewide grant activities and identify how social workers can become a part of increasing access to SUD services across Virginia. This section provides an overview of the Behavioral Health Enhancement initiative, which seeks to progressively build a full continuum of evidence-based, trauma-informed and prevention-oriented care that focuses on bolstering resiliency and recovery for Medicaid members. DMAS, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and hundreds of stakeholders are working to build the long-term vision for transformation and a short-term proposal to address our most vulnerable members and system needs. The presentation awards 1.5 credits.
