More Than a Bubble Bath: Self-Care Ethics for Every Time of Year
Presenters: Dr. Karen Goodenough, PhD, MSW, LGSW
1 CEUDid you know that self-care is now in the Code of Ethics? This means it can’t just be an add-on activity for which we try to find time. Rather, it means that it’s just as integral to our social work practice as confidentiality and cultural competence. So why do many social workers still think of self-care as something that happens “after hours” instead of being embedded into our daily work? Come join us for an overview of the recent changes to the Code of Ethics, and exchange ideas on how to support your self-care at year-end, and during any other busy time. Learn why self-care is a responsibility not only to ourselves, but to our colleagues, supervisees, and those we serve; and how organizations and institutions have an obligation to promote wellness in the workplace.
