Grants are often a critical component to funding necessary services to our clients and communities. This session includes a one-hour overview of the critical steps in seeking grant funding for nonprofit organizations, from identifying funding opportunities to proposal submission.
This session is designed to be an introduction for professionals who are new to the grant writing process. 1 Category A clinical CE approved by NASW NH #4019 Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the range of grant funding opportunities available for nonprofits; 2. Research and narrow funding opportunities for their organization; and 3. Discuss the critical elements of a grant proposal. About the Presenter: Kelly Laflamme, Senior Consultant, will facilitate the Grant Writing Training Series. Kelly joined Pear Associates in September 2020 with nearly 30 years of nonprofit experience as a grant writer, grantmaker, network builder, and communicator. She is a lead consultant working with The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) to launch the National Center to Reframe Aging and has provided grant writing support to GSA, Advocates, NH Department of Health and Human Services, FriendshipWorks, Deutsches Altenheim, The Innocent Convicts, and The Guild for Human Services. Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from La Salle University in Philadelphia and earned a Master of Public Administration at the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. She learned the art of framing communications for social change from the FrameWorks Institute and has applied these skills to health equity, healthy aging, elder abuse, nursing home care, and children's issues. She is a trained facilitator for the National Center to Reframe Aging. Prior to joining Pear Associates, Kelly served as a program director for the Endowment for Health in New Hampshire, establishing the statewide health foundation's efforts in health equity and later launching a healthy aging initiative. While at the Endowment, she collaborated with numerous statewide leaders to co-create the NH Health and Equity Partnership and later the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging, led a multi-year Immigrant Integration Initiative, advised the development of New Hampshire's State Plan on Aging, and collaborated with leaders in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont to launch the Tri-State Learning Collaborative on Aging.
