There is nothing new about brief treatment. Most clinical programs have some course work on the various forms of brief treatment, and many trainees are exposed to the philosophies and assumptions of brief models of therapy. What is new is the demand on social workers to do brief therapy in a wide variety of clinical settings and with a variety of presenting problems.  This text course introduces readers to the basic concepts of Solution Focused Brief Treatment.

    Learning Objectives

Participants in this CE Program will:

    1. Understand and be able to apply the Solution Focused assumptions to their cases.

    2. Be able to explain the client-therapist relationship to each goal in any particular case.

    3. Articulate the concept of exceptions and be able to articulate examples of active and passive questions.
