There is nothing new about brief treatment. Most clinical programs have some course work on the various forms of brief treatment, and many trainees are exposed to the philosophies and assumptions of brief models of therapy. What is new is the demand on social workers to do brief therapy in a wide variety of clinical settings and with a variety of presenting problems. This text course introduces readers to the basic concepts of Solution Focused Brief Treatment.
