    Description

    This text course covers five areas relevant to effective macro social work practice with task orient
    ed groups: Product and Process Dimensions, Leadership Development, Maintaining Democratic Participation, Recruitment, and Conducting Successful Large Meetings.  The development of knowledge and skills in these five areas will enhance the practitioner’s abilities to engage in effective macro social work with task oriented groups.

    Learning Objectives

    1.    To develop macro social work knowledge and skills for organizing, leading, staffing or participating in task oriented groups.

    2.    To learn about methods and techniques for recruiting new participants, developing community leadership, and conducting successful large meetings.

    3.    To gain knowledge about group composition, contracting, culture, and conflict, as well as methods for developing and maintaining an ethos of participatory democracy.
