Becoming a Reflective Resource: Supporting Individuals Facing Unintended Pregnancy - Presented by the North Carolina Chapter
Apply the social work principles of competence, service, dignity and worth, as laid out in the NASW code of ethics, to unintended pregnancy and abortion. Discuss specific barriers to abortion access to rural and diverse communities and their impact upon clients across the lifespan. Review current research and Provide program evaluation data specific to reproductive health referrals in North Carolina. Evaluate current referral practices and identify areas where site/social workers can support client autonomy, facilitate informed consent, and uphold individual dignity and worth.
