The presenter will share information that he shares with families, parents, or spouses of transgender clients to help them understand concepts relating to gender diversity and to living authentically.

Objectives:

Understand the diversity within the transgender community
Describe how the paths may differ for trans women, trans men, and different types of nonbinary people
Describe at least three ways a social worker/mental health therapist can provide services that support/help a transgender client, and at least three ways that harm the client
