Goodenough and a panel of Minnesota social workers who’ve been providing supervision on the side for a webinar about all you need to know to start or expand your supervision side gig, whether for individual or group practice. Get insights on finding supervisees, how much to charge, agenda-setting, and managing employer expectations of outside supervision. Learn how to build a great group, keep your practice ethical, make sure your documentation is in order, find support, and more!
About the Presenters Dr. Karen E. Goodenough, PhD, MSW, LGSWDr Goodenough has been Executive Director of the National Association of Social Workers - Minnesota Chapter since 2018. She received her BSW from St. Olaf College, MSW from Augsburg University, and PhD in social work from the University of Minnesota. Previously, Dr. KG worked in direct practice, non-profit program management, and has been a consultant in evaluation, data utilization, and strategic planning. She has also served as adjunct faculty in numerous BSW and MSW programs throughout Minnesota. Dr. KG is a skilled supervisor, trainer, and macro practitioner. She has supervised, coached, and trained interns, volunteers, contractors, board members, and staff from various professional backgrounds, and has provided hundreds of hours of training in such areas as supervision, ethics, policy advocacy, leadership, budgeting, evaluation, and research. Dr. KG is passionate about using data and best practices to build a purposeful future, and is currently focusing her research efforts on social work licensure. Kristen Perron, MBA, MSW, LISW Since earning her MSW and MBA from Augsburg University, Kristen has worked in the fields of transportation, community health, and education. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Social Work and Family Studies Department at St. Olaf College. Kristen has been facilitating group and individual licensure supervision for 10 years. She is grateful to her mentors and supervisees, with whom she has the privilege to engage in lifelong learning.
Jenelle Slobof, MSW, LICSW/LCSW/LCSW/BACS Jenelle Slobof received a BA from UW Madison and her MSW from the University of Minnesota. She is an LICSW in MN, LCSW in FL, and an LCSW-BACS in LA and a NASW-MN Certified supervisor. Jenelle’s 30-year professional social work career has been focused primarily in acute medical/psychiatric care settings in MN and other states. Jenelle has been providing licensure supervision for 24 years and for the last 10 years supervision has been her primary focus; she has been supervisor to over 85 Minnesota MSW/BSWs and is also currently partnered with The Professional Matrix, a Twin Cities-based supervision matching network. Jenelle has been a member of NASW-MN since 1993 and participates on the licensure workgroup. She resides in New Orleans, but travels often to Minnesota – where her social work values are rooted – to meet with supervisees and be with family.*Please check with the regulatory board in the state(s) where you are licensed to ensure this course meets continuing education requirements.
