NASW-NYS: A Call to the State Central Register: Consequences for Poor Families
The Center for Family Representation is a legal and social service organization representing parents in child welfare proceedings in Queens and Manhattan. During this presentation, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the consequences of reports to the State Central Register (SCR), the child abuse and maltreatment hotline. Additionally, the presenters will explain what terms like "unfounded" and "indicated" ACS investigations mean, what are some of the long-term implications of each, and how poor communities are most impacted.
