This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the vital link of the school social workers in k-12 schools. The discussion will include intervention and services, barriers, the importance of community involvement and information regarding DE’s professional school social worker organization.

Learning Objectives:

Explore the various roles and responsibilities of the school social worker and the services they provide.
Demonstrate an understanding of the school social work practice models, standards and guiding principles.
Identify challenges connecting students and/or families to resources and services.
Discuss reasonable steps to addressing barriers within the educational system.
