Embodied Ethics in Social Work Practice

2 CEUs - may be counted as ethics or general CEUs

    Presenter: Elin Amundson, MSW, LGSW

Participants will explore various ethical theories to consider how social workers develop and practice the ethical competencies required to do their job well. The presentation will introduce virtue ethics as a framework to help people understand and apply ethical behavior to their own individual contexts (both professional and personal). The presentation will include a brief overview of virtue ethics theory, highlighting ways that it intersects with the field of social work, and participants will undergo a series of self-reflective exercises to integrate the concepts that are most applicable to social work practice.

    About the Presenter
Elin Amundson graduated in 2019 from the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine Master of Social Work program. Prior to earning her LGSW, she worked in several food and garden-based education programs which focused on community organizing and advancing health-related social justice priorities. She currently works as a multi-systemic therapist in Hennepin County.
