This seminar will explore approaches to mental health treatment for individuals living with Long Covid and other less visible illnesses. The post-viral illness now commonly known as Covid includes a wide array of symptoms, including brain fog, memory deficits, fatigue, sensory disturbances, and more. With these myriad physical and cognitive changes, patients see widespread changes to their daily functioning, financial and social strain as well. Other chronic illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune illness that are both not always visible on the surface and can vary in presentation cause similar distress & confusion in patients and their providers. The cumulative toll of hidden illness creates increased stress, overwhelm, and mental health impacts. Before considering treatment approaches, this seminar will first explore the individual, family, and societal factors that impact patient experience and presentation, in the intersectionality with various forms of oppression.

To explain the current definitions of Long Covid other hidden illnesses & relevant challenges patients face
