This follow-up Solution-Focused Brief Therapy training is an extension of the level 1 course. The level 1 course covered the foundations of the Solution-Focused (SF) model and the 7 solution-focused interventions. This training expands on these and provides more opportunities for practice and discussion. While the participants will help to design the training together, the training will include a brief review of the fundamentals, a full session video with discussion, and a full session roleplay. The second day is planned to give the participants opportunities to practice. It’s recommended that participants have either completed the basic course or its equivalent, have a good grasp of SF concepts, and are using the model in their own practice.
NOTE: This is an advanced (expert) course for those who have had the basic SFBT training or its equivalent. This training is designed to be highly interactive — please come prepared to participate with your camera and audio on and working.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
Name the 7 tools of solution-building.
Name the 3 basic rules of solution building.
List the 5 elements of the “thinking break.”
Name the characteristics of a useful goal.
List the basic solution focused assumptions.
Name the 4 elements of E.A.R.S.
Through role-plays, participants will be able to demonstrate a facility using the 7 tools of solution-building.
