This workshop will examine the unique and complex ethical challenges faced by school social workers. We will go beyond theory to explore real-world situations, including confidentiality issues with minors, dual relationships, and managing conflicts between student, parent, and school interests. Participants will work through case studies and participate in group discussions to practice ethical decision-making models. The aim is to provide attendees with a practical framework for understanding and resolving ethical conflicts while maintaining professional standards.
Learning Outcomes:
· Participants will be able to identify and analyze common ethical dilemmas specific to the school setting.
· Participants will be able to apply at least two different ethical decision-making models to resolve a hypothetical case study.
· Participants will be able to articulate the importance of supervision and consultation in navigating complex ethical issues.
