The NASW International Committee is planning a conflict resolution webinar. We will invite conflict resolution experts from Africa and Europe to share their expertise and experiences with social workers in Canada and the United States. The goal of this virtual webinar is to highlight the role of social workers in conflict resolution and peacebuilding strategies and learn from their knowledge, experiences, and practices. The aim is to help social workers in North America to understand the root causes of conflict, historical and cultural factors rooted in colonialism, the importance, building relationships and trust, adopting a strengths-based approach using a sustainable development framework, collaborating with other professionals, and advocating for social justice. The webinar will focus on how these learnings can be applied by social workers in the Canada and the United States to promote peace and social justice in their own communities and beyond.
