To identify and explore the many ways black and brown people have been harmed in both explicit and insidious ways. The harm has resulted in generations of psychological, emotional and physiological turmoil. To help mitigate the hurt done, we will investigate healing practices that social workers can implement to help reduce harm, restore and heal black and brown folks in toxic environments.

    Learning Objectives:
    • Identify key terms and definitions related to racism and race based toxic stress
    • Review the historical, physiological and psychological impact of race based stress
    • Explore Mind and Body healing practices
