Description:
As leaders in the practice of child adoption, social workers are educated and trained, and continually update their clinical skills and knowledge. In addition to honing their clinical skills, it is important for social workers to remain up-to-date on adoption-related research. Relevant research findings may serve to enhance a social worker’s clinical practice, as well as guide agency policies. This course will provide an overview of adoption in the United States, and a focused look at the adoption of children from the child welfare system (i.e., foster care adoption).
