The Opioid Epidemic is the most serious public health issue our country is facing today. Currently, we are all more likely to lose someone close to us to Opioids than a car accident. In this training, Jennifer Kljajic, LCSW and Director of Therapy will differentiate between “As Prescribed” Physiological Dependency and Substance Use Disorder as well prevention and interventions.

    Objectives:
    • Pain History and Assessment: a way to advocate and build rapport for the disenfranchised chronic pain population
    • Assess and differentiate between Substance Use Disorder and Physiological
    • Prevention through education, CBT for Chronic Pain and mind body medicine
    • Intervention through collaboration and coordination of care with their prescribing physicians to explore de-prescribing practices that were nationally published by the Health and Human Services in 2019.
    • Benzodiazepines: The Hidden Epidemic. Risks of Concomitant prescribing.
