The Opioid Epidemic is the most serious public health issue our country is facing today. Currently, we are all more likely to lose someone close to us to Opioids than a car accident. In this training, Jennifer Kljajic, LCSW and Director of Therapy will differentiate between “As Prescribed” Physiological Dependency and Substance Use Disorder as well prevention and interventions.
Objectives:
Pain History and Assessment: a way to advocate and build rapport for the disenfranchised chronic pain population
Assess and differentiate between Substance Use Disorder and Physiological
Prevention through education, CBT for Chronic Pain and mind body medicine
Intervention through collaboration and coordination of care with their prescribing physicians to explore de-prescribing practices that were nationally published by the Health and Human Services in 2019.
