Forensic Social Work is used or applied through the use of science or technology in the investigation and establishment of facts or evidence pertaining to, connected with, or used in a court of law. Estimates of the number of people incarcerated suffering from child welfare and other social services fall into the same range. In each of these areas of practice, social workers make up a large portion of staff. The possibility of treating someone who is, or has been, involved in the legal system is greater than not for social workers. The purpose of the workshop is to provide social workers with practical and useful knowledge about being prepared for a records subpoena and/or testimony.
