From Numbers to Narrative: A Guide to Data-Driven School Social Work
This program has been approved for 3.0 Continuing Education hours for licensure. NASW ME Authorization.
This workshop will clarify how school social workers can effectively use data, demonstrating its power as a tool to support their work. We'll explore practical ways to gather, analyze, and present data and how to use this information to identify trends, customize interventions, and demonstrate the impact of their services to school administrators and stakeholders. The session will emphasize simple methods and tools, and feature case examples to illustrate how to transform data into a compelling story—a skill we refer to as "data storytelling."
Learning Outcomes:
· Participants will be able to identify at least three types of data they can collect to inform their practice.
· Participants will be able to create a basic visual representation (e.g., a simple chart or graph) of data to demonstrate impact.
· Participants will be able to articulate the value of using data to secure resources or advocate for new programs
