The utilization of telehealth has grown rapidly in the last decade across many health care specialties. While this technology is well suited for the delivery of behavioral health services, its utilization among behavioral health organizations and providers has lagged behind that of other health care providers. This workshop is designed to introduce social workers to telebehavioral health, familiarize participants with research on its effectiveness, address legal and ethics issues, and help social workers employed in health centers or in private practice assess their readiness to offer telehealth services. The presentation will review a health center program that offers an integrated primary care and telebehavioral services for seasonal farmworkers through mobile health clinics.  For providers in private practice, we will examine different modes of incorporating telehealth services into a new or existing practice. Participants will be provided with resources to assist in the development of appropriate protocols, policies, and procedures for telebehavioral health services. The seminar will use lecture and case presentations to help participants identify the steps to assess, design and incorporate telehealth into their practice or organization.

Please note that much of the information in the introduction and closing can be disregarded when viewing this course as a recording. For purpose of CE’s, use the post-test, rather than the code described in the video.
