    Using SAMHSA’s guidelines for trauma-informed care (TIC), this one-hour training will describe how to apply TIC in child principles into practice. Research about the prevalence and impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) will be briefly described. Participants will be introduced to SAMHSA’s guiding principles of TIC, will learn to view client problems and symptoms through the lens of trauma, and will be given a set of trauma-responsive tools to apply in their practice with clients.
    Learning Objectives:  
    1. Participants will become informed about the prevalence & impact of childhood trauma.  
    2. Participants will be able to describe and apply SAMSHA’s principles & components of trauma-informed care.
    3. Participants will learn to conceptualize client problems, symptoms, and behaviors through a trauma lens.
    4. Participants will learn TIPs (Trauma-informed Practices) to translate TIC principles into practice.
