Description-
Social work practice involves many dimensions, spanning clinical to macro practice, often requiring that we be specialists as well as generalists. Those who have chosen administrative/management or academic career paths often find themselves needing to learn skills outside of the profession such as program management, budget management, and fundraising. However, one skill that can be invaluable to clinicians, administrators, and academics alike is that of grant writing, which entails the art and science of securing money, usually from non-profit or government sources, to support certain aspects of the work we do and/or to develop new initiatives.
