About the Speaker: Ysabel Garcia is a skilled educator, dialogue facilitator, and disruptor of systems of oppression with a bold mission to engage in raw conversations about mental health, suicide, and social justice. Her wealth of knowledge, shaped by her identity as a Dominican immigrant with Spanish as a first language, combined with her direct experience in the psychiatric system during moments of suicidality, brings a distinctive perspective that sets her apart. Ysabel is the founder of Estoy Aqui LLC, a consultancy agency offering innovative training programs to providers in the helping professions who want to learn about the socio-cultural aspects of mental health in Latine and Black communities. Ysabel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Bay Path University.
