According to the National Institute of Mental Health, tens of thousands of individuals experience a mental health condition. However, only half will receive care. Michelle D. DiLauro, PhD, LCSW and Laurene Clossey, PhD discuss their findings regarding on how many of these individuals seek treatment in non-conventional ways. Examples of Conventional and Alternative Medicines (CAM) include acupuncture, meditation, and massage therapy. Their findings demonstrate the niche that CAM may be able to fill.
