2.0 Continuing Education Hours (which includes 2.0 Ethics Hours, and 0.75 LGBTQ+ Hours)
As the political, social and economic climate continues to change at an increasing rate, so do the respective challenges they present to today’s Social Worker. The impact of these changes often collide with the Code of Ethics to which Social Workers are bound. Maintaining fidelity to the NASW Code of Ethics, staying the course that led them to this field; their purpose, while navigating the policies reflecting changes in legislation may cause an average day to feel like a mine filled gauntlet. This presentation takes a deeper look at the conundrum in which many Social Workers find themselves when fidelity to the field, fulfilling the duties of their position and the integrity with which they serve their clients are in direct opposition with legislation and state guidelines. We will explore this pattern and discuss an eclectic approach to meeting the needs of our clients within the parameters of the law, and with our integrity intact.
