We exist in a time where there are more civilian-owned firearms than there are people in the United States, and one where we are called upon to prevent firearm-related injury and death. Learn strategies to address firearm safety with clients, particularly as it relates to suicidality.

At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:
    • Describe the role of firearms in incidents of gun violence in the United States.
    • Apply firearm-related inquiries into your clinical practice.
    • Articulate the components which make up the spirit of Motivational Interviewing.
    • Describe the phases of Motivational Interviewing in relation to lethal means safety counseling.
