Nearly 70,000 newcomers made Massachusetts home between July 1, 2023-July 1, 2024, the largest population increase in over a decade. However, most of these new individuals and families hold lawful but temporary legal status that the Trump administration has targeted—for revocation, suspension of birthright citizenship, and even deportation. Beyond newly arrived families, the indefinite suspension of the refugee resettlement program and the militarization of the southern border jeopardizes safe harbor and family reunification for thousands of persecuted immigrant individuals and families. Join and learn about the rapidly changing immigration policy landscape and what is at stake for immigrant families.

    Participants will:
    ● Better understand details of restrictive immigration executive orders by the Trump Administration.
    ● Learn more about how reshaping immigration policy impacts Massachusetts’ immigrant individuals and families.
    ● Deepen your understanding of the many ways to use your professional voice to advocate for humane immigration policy.

The goal of this webinar is to improve understanding of the impact of enacting restrictive immigration policies on immigrant populations representing racial, ethnic, gendered, cultural, and sexual diversity and diversity of ability. We will discuss ways to advocate for humane policies that protect diverse populations.
