This virtual class qualifies for the new 2020 state-required mandated reporter training. Illinois Public Act 101-564, effective January 1, 2020, extensively revises the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act and makes abuse and neglect reporting training a requirement for all mandated reporters. Mandated reporter training is now required for new professionals and every 3 years thereafter. This training, developed by the NASW-Illinois Chapter and Monahan Law Group, LLC, is applicable to social workers and all other mandated reporters in Illinois. Highlights of the training will include the practical effects of the new statutory changes, the legal standards and documentation requirements regarding making a report, and the DCFS process and the consequences of making (or not making) a report.
