The Impact of Trauma on Staff and Organizations 1 CEU - Supervision or Macro Presenter:Lara Griffin, MPP, MSW, LGSW
This training will apply an understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care to the experiences of workers, teams, and organizational culture. We will start by understanding some of the common occupational hazards for staff related to trauma exposure in the work. Then we’ll look at the ways trauma can impact norms when we work together on teams. We'll end by taking exploring the role of organizational culture in creating trauma-informed workplaces.
Learning Objectives: 1. Gain a deeper understanding of trauma in organizations and systems. 2. Use systems thinking to understand organizational strategies that promote resilience and healing. 3. Explore concrete applications of trauma-informed interventions that fit the needs of their workplace.
About the Presenter:
Lara Griffin (she/her) is the founder of Grounded Practice Consulting, LLC, a Minneapolis-based consulting firm that specializes in work with youth-work professionals seeking do meaningful work in the world. Lara provides customized support to youth-serving organizations to feel grounded in their values and connected to structures that support their work. Lara has held roles in direct service, program and operations management, program evaluation, and national training and technical assistance. She holds Master’s Degrees in Social Work (MSW) and Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from Oberlin College. Lara is a licensed social worker (LGSW) in the state of Minnesota and a certified Social Work Supervisor.
